| Whiteout (2009) | Average thriller, some beautiful landscapes but I was missing the abandoned feeling I like from these isolated winter films. | |

| Tron (1982) | Watched the 20th Anniversary edition, it's a great film, can't remember the last time I saw it, I must have been 10 or so. The movie isn't half as dated as I expected (if we ignore the arcade scenes and a good chuck of the dialogue). | |
| The Spy Next Door (2009) | This was okay for a kid's film. Not as many stunts as I'd like but I guess Jackie is getting old. | |
| Serious Moonlight (2009) | I found this very slow. Kirsten Bell was nice to look at but there wasn't much else going for the movie. | |
| Daybreakers (2009) | This was alright, was kinda expecting something more with regards to the style of a vampire controlled world but it was quite tame. Sorta like Minority Report with a couple of fangs thrown in. | |
| The Road (2009) | I hadn't heard of this until recently, it sounded like my type of film. I enjoyed it, though sometimes it was a little slow. I scene with the prisoners in the basement stood out, but then that was probably just my penchant for monsters. | |
| A Perfect Getaway (2009) | I quite liked most of this, but the reveal/ending/twist was badly done. Timothy Olyphant was very good as usual. For some reason I was convinced the lead female was the spitting image of Mila Jovovich and then I realised it actually was her. | |
| Decoys (2004) | Poor man's Species, without Natasha Henstridge, so it's pretty pointless. Overall it's an average film, could have been worse. | |

| Extract (2009) | This was pretty decent, not laugh-out-loud, but entertaining. Mila Kunis looked great and Jason Bateman is becoming a favourite of mine. | |

| 16 Blocks (2006) | Watched this on TV with my parents on my mum's birthday. I'd seen this before, it's a decent film. | |
| Case 39 (2009) | This was an okay horror/thriller. I liked how precocious she was in the scene with the psychologist. | |
| Horsemen (2009) | Watched this with my dad, I think it was the night Seven died. It was a pretty decent thriller. | |
| Sherlock Holmes (2009) | I was looking forward to this, unfortunately, I found the story pretty dry. There was a lack of suspense and mystery, though I might watch this again and see if my opinon changes. With regards to most other aspects, the style, the acting, the interpretation of the Watson-Holmes interplay etc I was quite impressed. I particularly liked Holmes' explanations of how he'd react in a fight and then the follow through. It's always how I'd imagined Holmes in combat. Looking forward to the sequel. I heard there is a petition to get Stephen Fry to play Mycroft, superb idea :-) | |
| The Time Traveler's Wife (2009) | Wasn't really bothered about watching this, I suspected the book couldn't be improved upon. I was pleasantly surprised - it was a faithful and well done interpretation. Didn't recognise Eric Bana as Nero. Claire was prettier than I imagined when I read the book. | |
| Public Enemies (2009) | I found this terribly slow, the acting was okay, but the pace just felt off. Maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind. I turned it off toward the end and watched the remainder a day later. | |
| Stan Helsing (2009) | Why can nobody make a good parody these days? This wasn't good at all, but I've seen much worse recently. There were a couple of laughs, and it's my genre. | |

| Batman and Robin (1997) | Decided to watch this out of the blue. It's probably my least favourite of the series. It's a bit of fun though. Always nice to see Bat Girl fight Poison Ivy. | |
| Moon (2009) | Watched this after Pandorum. I think I prefered this. They are different films of course. Some interesting ideas in the film. I liked the computer, it was pretty different from the norm. | |
| Pandorum (2009) | I enjoyed this film, it was fun with a decent amount of suspense. I'm showing my geek colours here though - I would probably have enjoyed it just as much, or maybe more, without the monsters. | |

| Universal Soldier: Regeneration (2009) | Previously, i.e. before seeing JVCD, I would assume this would've been crap. But I was keen to see what VD would do with this. I was pretty impressed. Overall it was an okay action film, nothing overly special, but leagues better than the previous installments of one my favourite action franchises. | |
| The Stone Tape (1972) | Very quaint British TV film. I liked seeing the old equipment. The idea of 'the stone tape' is pretty cool. The film wasn't too good though, and pretty dated. | |
| Buffalo '66 (1998) | I'm not sure I've seen Vincent Gallo before, he was a pretty impressive, intense actor. Everybody was pretty good in this actually, I liked the parents and Ricci looked cute. | |
| Battle Angel (1993) | aka Gunnm. Not a bad OVA, a little preoccupied with the romance and light on the tech but I enjoyed it. | |

| Up (2009) | Watched this with my family after Christmas. I quite enjoyed it, it was an okay family film. The mini-film at the beginning, the almost wordless introduction, was superbly done and would have stood alone as an excellent, albeit depressing, short. | |

| Freaky Friday (1976) | Quite a strange, dated film. The last 20 minutes were pretty crazy. Jodie Foster was decent in it. | |
| Trading Places (1983) | I enjoyed this, it was a fun early 80s comedy. Eddie Murphy and Dan Akroyd were good together. The one scene with Jamie Lee Curtis getting into bed took me by surprise. | |
| The Last Winter (2006) | Was desperately looking for another horror film set in a snowy environment, similar to The Thing and didn't realise I'd already watched this. It is a good, atmospheric film - it has a pretty slow beginning though. | |
| Dead Space Downfall (2008) | This was not bad, basically a cartoon version of Aliens meet a zombie film. I might check out the game this is based on. | |
| All of Me (1985) | Part of my body-switching movies drive. This was an alright movie, I didn't like it so much though. The black blind character was pretty cool. | |
| Army of One (1993) | aka Joshua Tree. This was a terrible but enjoyable, cheesey film. | |
| Jennifer's Body (2009) | Watched this because Megan Fox was in it, even though I don't like her all that much. It was a okay film. Reminded me a little of Teeth mixed with a few other teen horrors. | |

| The Tournament (2009) | This was an okay action movie, nothing special, Robert Carlyle bugged me a little. Reminded me somewhat of Battle Royale. Kelly Hu was gorgeous. | |

| Scrooged (1988) | Was in the mood for some 80s Bill Murray. It's an okay film. | |
| Kingpin (1996) | I really loved this comedy when I first saw it, I think in the cinema. It's still a good film, not as great as I remember it, but there are some really funny, and also quite subtle, scenes. | |
| The Machinist (2004) | Good film, Christian Bale was great as usual. | |
| Mama's Boy (2007) | This was alright. I fall in love with Anna Faris in different ways with each film I see her in. | |
| J.C.V.D. (2008) | I was very impressed with this. It was a good, well done movie. Jean Claude Van Damme actually pulled off every scene well. Trouble is, I want to recommend it but can't think to whom. | |
| Dune (1984) | Mini-series. I liked Kyle McLachlan as Paul Atredes. In fact I liked most of the actors, more so than the 2000 remake. | |
| Jack Frost (1996) | B movie gold. Finally got around to seeing this. I remember the cover from long ago when I was a kid in Blockbusters with my dad - I was never allowed to rent it. This is the sort of movie I look for. There was some great cheesey one-liners with some interesting death scenes - gotta be seen for nothing else than the Shannon Elizabeth "Where's the carrot?" death scene. | |

| Elvira, Mistress of the Dark (1988) | Fascinating film. I totally missed this girl, this is the first I've heard of her - she's been alluded to, but I didn't know anything really - just looked up her other film and Movie Macabre. It was a fun cult film. Oh, and, well, she definitely has a figure. | |

| U.S. Marshals (1998) | I like this, very good fugitive film. Both the leads are great. | |
| Big (1988) | Fun cheesey 80s flick. Tom Hanks was great in this. I always remember wanting this to happen to me when I was young (and hisapartment/job) -the machine also freaked me out a bit. Still liked it, the piano scene is great too. | |

| I Sell the Dead (2008) | I liked this movie. It had a lot of style. I thought Dominic Monaghan would annoy me but he was pretty good, Ron Perlman too. | |

| The Terminators (2009) | I really really should give up on Asylum films. I'm always so tempted that one day it might be decent. If nothing else it shows me a lot of things I shouldn't do when I make a movie. The effects are getting better and better though (don't get me wrong, they were terrible, but I can just imagine it's getting easier and easier to have some 16 year old generate all the stuff they want/need on his home PC). | |

| The Host (2006) | aka Gwoemul. I avoided this because it looked like an average monster film. However the ratings slowly climbed on IMDB so I gave it a shot. Didn't like it much. Sometimes Korean cinema is very strange - why was he touching himself when his daughter died? I'll go back and watch this again though - I wasn't paying much attention. | |
| Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things (1973) | I was disappointed with this, didn't know much about it - just remembered seeing the VHS cover when I was a kid in the video store. The film is something like 74 minutes long - not one scare, monster or zombie until at least the 64 minute mark. Just weird weird acting from the 'mystic girl' and the lead guy. Terrible film. | |

| Feast 3 (2009) | Still haven't seen the second film in the series - and don't really want to. I only watched this because the first five minutes were so surprising. No spoiler, but half the cast died and almost all the women were naked. Had to see the rest :-p | |
| Young Frankenstein (1974) | This is totally my style of movie but for some reason it's taken me at least three or four sittings to get through it. I love parodies, love the subject matter, but just don't get the movie overall. There are some superb lines "Walk this way" etc, but overall it just doesn't click. Shame. I'm probably spoiled with seeing too many similar films before getting around to this one (which, granted, I should have seen much earlier). | |
| Dead girl (2008) | This is probably up there in my most interesting film of the year spot. Somebody recommended it to me, but I picked up the wrong one and watched Deadgirl (2008) instead. This is the one they must have meant. It's a pretty mental film. Crazy premise, disturbed characters, twisted ending (and fascinating 15 seconds at the beginning), makes me wish for a sequel or prequel. | |

| Undead or Alive (2007) | Kev recommended this to me, I was quite surprised, seen a lot of this type of movie, a 'Zombedy' as they call it, this was pretty stylish. | |

| Watchmen (2009) | I watched this just after reading the graphic novel. I was impressed. It was amazingly true to the story (except for the ending), which, unusually, I thought was done better than the story. Easily best film of the year so far. The soundtrack was good as well, the introduction montage captured the feel of the novel superbly. | |

| 18 Year Old Virgin (2009) | Of all the trash I watch, this was reasonably unique. Sorta American Pie but from a female perspective. Not a good film by any means, but some interesting scenes. The bathroom scene was just over-the-top, almost made me uncomfortable having the actress do that, but then at least I felt something. | |
| Airbone (1993) | Meh, rollerblading movie. That was some look Seth Green was sporting. | |
| Attack of the 50ft Woman (1958) | Aww.. This has been on my to-see list for years - maybe nearly two decades - it was quite a bit of a let down. The titular character only has 4 minutes of screen time, plus the effects, while possibly impressive at the time, make the character look like a transparent ghost and even I could have made a better puppet with pipe cleaners. Oh well, there is something sexy about a 50ft woman rampaging through town though. I'd like to buy the movie poster print. | |

| Diary of a Teenage Nudist (2004) | I expected this to be a comedy, or a least not a documentary. I guess I was approaching the whole thing from the wrong angle - she gets naked about 1hr 10mins in.. I jest.. It was enlightening, the point made about filming children on home videos was interesting - some kids grow up in nudist camps and the make home videos of barbeques etc, which is fine, but you can find some of these videos for sale in the backs of magazines - she wonders who buys them. | |
| Flight of the Navigator (1986) | Fond memories of this 80s movie. It's fun sci-fi, the ship was very memorable. Sarah Jessica Parker is pretty hot too (though not as hot as she was in Hocus Pocus). | |

| Rat Race (2004) | Not many agree, but I think this is a fun little road trip movie with a great cast. I loved the group of gamblers led by John Cleese. The intro credits really stood out for me; fun music, in a Monty Python esque style. | |

She could've been worse, some of the fights were terrible though.. that roundhouse kick had me laughing. Don't get my started on Chris Klein, he made the movie, his acting was hilariously bad. | |
| Teen Agent (1991) | aka If Looks Could Kill. I have fond memories of this when I was young, and have been looking for it for years. I think I saw it in the cinema. A few scenes stand out.. the scorpion on his stomach while he's trying to open his combat condoms.. and those shoes that let him walk/slide down walls.. Just watched it again. It's just as I remember it, though even camper. I don't remember the lead being so feminine looking. | |

It's a pretty awful movie with the usual non-sensical time paradox stuff. I liked one of the special effects they used.. let me see if I can explain it: the camera would pan over the robot's body, toggling between an animated wire frame view and normal view, just to look cool - each time it was wire frame, some gadget would extend or flex and look sophisticated and then be retracted by the time the camera switched to normal view again - very cheap way to add a little to the robot design. | |
