I've always been confused why newsgroups don't seem to be as popular anymore.  They tick every box people [open source geeks] generally want: decentralised, push/pull, standardised, threaded conversations, open source etc.

I'm a slow personal mission to revive them.  Collecting links here to muster fellow developers.
