Movies I've Watched * See also Notable movies 2026 March * Mike and Nick and Nick and Alice (2026) - I only watched this because it had 'time travel' in the synopsis. It wasn't that great, barely made use of time travel so it wasn't quite what I was hoping for. 2025 It seems like a bit of a busy year. Books I've Read See also: Books I'm Reading and Books I Want to Read 2025 October * Mind's Eye by Douglas E. Richards - Hmm, this is the first book in the Nick Hall series. It was good, strange to have read it out of order (I read the second one first). I don't know if I want to read more. I enjoyed it as more of an action story, the sci-fi element annoyed me.

SSH Tunnels Bypassing firewalls If only HTTP (port 80) or HTTPS (port 443) is allowed out of the network. This is also useful for obfuscating traffic from your machine. You'll need to have server1 listening for ssh connections on port 80 or 443, we'll assume 443 here. From there you can create a SOCKS proxy using ssh. The '-g' parameter allows remote machines to share this proxy.

Matrix Firehose People used to ask why I was always able to spot any mention of the club or my name etc on r/glasgow and response to comments so quickly. On Matrix we had every comment and post relayed to the 'firehose' room. It was generally set to notification off/silent, but you could easily add custom keywords like 'mckillop' or 'gamer club' and it would notify you when the keyword was in a post or comment (with a handy 'reply-to' link).
