This is an old revision of the document!
Written November 2005.
In deep dark cold November
We gather to remember
Remember boys and men
Butchered slaughtered way back then
They gave their lives for us we are told
The men and boys who never got old
But if truth be told it's where politicians fail
Well that's another tale
In winters bitter cold
I stand with the young and the old
The pipes lament they play
On this sad remembrance day
Where bells peal, toll and chime
Ringing out their haunting rhyme
Old soldiers stand in line
With memories of another time
They still see the horrors, hear the screams
As they wake in terror from their dreams
With great pride they march by
Their proud banners they held high
With medals sparkling in the sun
All heroes every one
As I stand in pensive thought
I wonder at the lessons taught.
